Nasatta Light Festival Winter Illumination 2025

This year, Nasatta Light Festival returns with the theme “Heroines of Thai Literature and Flowers in Thai Legends,” offering breathtaking views designed from the imagination of the creators and the expertise of the engineers, showcasing the unique stories and legends of Thailand. The park’s forest will be transformed into a magical display of millions of lights, creating a beautiful sight that promises to be grander than ever before.

Highlights of the event this year:

  • Zone 1: Thai Glorious Era
The tulip in the center of the field symbolizes a new beginning, just as the three kings who led Thailand into the new eras.
  • Zone 2: Season Change
“Change happens to all lives, and within every change, there is hidden beauty.” This quote reflects the truth that every change in life, whether good or bad, often has aspects of beauty that become apparent over time. Although change can sometimes be challenging or uncomfortable, when we look back, we often realize that it has led to growth and development, either in ourselves or in the things around us.
  • Zone 3: God of Thunder
According to ancient beliefs, Ramsur (Ramasura) is a fearsome giant with great power and wrath. When he throws his axe, it is said to cause thunder and lightning to occur.
  • Zone 4: Thai Spirit
In Buddhist teachings, the lotus represents spiritual growth and enlightenment. The flower grows in muddy waters, yet remains pure and unstained, symbolizing the potential for individuals to rise above difficulties and achieve enlightenment despite the challenges and impurities of the world. The lotus is deeply connected to Buddhist philosophy, where it embodies the journey towards inner purity, wisdom, and compassion.
  • Zone 5: Sukhothai
  • Zone 6: Siam Tulip

  • Zone 7: Sacred Wave
In Buddhism, the Buddha compares people to the four types of lotus flowers, divided into those who are still lost in desires, those who begin to understand the teachings, those who practice well, and those who have attained the highest enlightenment. This comparison reflects the spiritual development and growth in practice at different stages.
  • Zone 8: Mystical Entrance
The story of the hidden city of Lublam tells of a magical door located on the wall of a cave or cliff, which will only open when someone from the city of Lublam enters or exits. This door cannot be opened easily by those who are not from the city, and it is believed to protect the city from the outside world, maintaining its secrecy and mystery. The hidden city of Lublam in the legend is often depicted as a mysterious place with special qualities, inaccessible to ordinary people.
  • Zone 9: Bliss Blossom

  • Zone 10: Magic Cave

  • Zone 11: Infinity Wall

  • Zone 12: The Magic Pond
This is a depiction of the lotus pond in the underworld city (เมืองบาดาล) when Hanuman secretly entered the city to rescue Lord Rama, who had been kidnapped. He did so by passing through the giant lotus stalk that connected the lotus pond in the human world with the lotus pond in the underworld. This event led him to encounter his son, Makkhanu (มัจฉานุ), who was born in the underworld.
  • Zone 13: Milky Way

  • Zone 14: Joyful Light Field
The landscape of Mount Meru (เขาพระสุเมรุ) and the Himmapan Forest (ป่าหิมพานต์) is a rich and mystical setting in Hindu and Buddhist mythology.
Mount Meru is considered the center of the universe, a sacred and towering mountain surrounded by divine realms. It is depicted as the axis of the cosmos, where gods and celestial beings reside. In many traditional depictions, Mount Meru is shown as a majestic, snow-capped peak, rising high above the surrounding lands.
The Himmapan Forest is a mystical, enchanted forest that surrounds Mount Meru. It is said to be home to mythical creatures, divine beings, and fantastic flora and fauna. This forest is often described as lush, filled with exotic plants, and inhabited by creatures like the kinnara (half-human, half-bird beings), nagas (serpent deities), and various other fantastic creatures.
Together, these two elements create an awe-inspiring and sacred landscape, blending the divine, mythical, and natural worlds in the spiritual traditions of South Asia.
  • Zone 15: Whispering Rose (Interactive)
The inspiration comes from the story of Matna, an angel who was tragically cursed by a divine deity who fell in love with her. As a result of this curse, she was transformed into the first rose of the world.
This myth reflects themes of love, fate, and transformation, where Matna, a beautiful and celestial being, becomes a symbol of beauty and sorrow through the rose. The rose, often seen as a symbol of love and passion, in this case, carries with it a sense of loss and tragedy from the angel’s cursed fate. The story of Matna and her transformation into a rose captures the blend of divine forces, emotional depth, and the symbolism of nature.
  • Zone 16: Fluffy Light Dance
  • Zone 17: Over the Horizon

  • Zone 18: Breath of Light Tunnel
  • Zone 19: Flower Blessing
In certain spiritual or religious contexts, the act of offering or scattering flowers is believed to carry the power of goodwill, prayer, and blessings. This gesture is often associated with invoking divine protection, ensuring safety, and promoting harmony in the face of natural or man-made disasters. By scattering flowers, it is thought that one can bring peace and prevent misfortune from befalling individuals or communities.
  • Zone 20: Floating Lantern

  • Zone 21: Glittering Song
  • Zone 22: Crystal Walls
Kampeng Kaew or Mueang Kaew is a monumental structure created by the gods to provide a dwelling or a city for the protagonist who performs good deeds in Thai literature. This usually occurs in the context of divine assistance or blessings from powerful deities in Thai epics, such as in the stories of Ramakien or Phra Maha Chanok.
  • Zone 23: Nymph Forest

  • Zone 24: Bua Kome
A folk tale from northern Thailand tells of a beautiful maiden born from a lotus flower, renowned for her exceptional beauty and sweet fragrance. According to the legend, she emerged from a blooming lotus in a lake or pond, symbolizing purity and flawless beauty.
This maiden was worshipped and revered by the people in the community, as she embodied beauty and goodness, reflecting the purity of the lotus flower. Her beauty and fragrance became a symbol of harmony between nature and humanity, representing the balance between inner virtue and the natural world.
